Relationship between technology and obesity Updated Wed. Oct. 07 2009 8:44 PM ET A University of Waterloo professor is examining the relationship between technology and obesity.
His experiment uses Geocaching to prove that kids, crazy about video games, can be prompted to get up off the couch.
The game uses handheld GPS units that have portable screens. It leads kids outdoors, where they get exercise and get acquainted with the environment. Kids can then share their experiences through social networking.
All of the data is tracked and analyzed to determine if it really gets kids more active.
